Our History
Over time the farm has grown a variety of trees:
- Spruce (Blue- Norway)
- Pine (Scotch-White)
- Fir (Canaan- Fraser)
During 1980-2000 period the farm devoted a lot of time on propagating from seed and growing Fraser Fir. As a result of the expertise gained, the Farm evolved into growing mostly Fraser Fir for the Christmas Tree market.
With the success in growing quality Fraser Fir trees, Crickmer Farms began making fresh Fraser Fir wreaths in the 1990’s focusing on quality and freshness of the products. All wreath products are made from greenery grown and assembled on our farm in Fayette County, WV. Our wreath makers are all experienced and take pride in the quality of their work.
This focus on high quality greenery and wreath making expertise has resulted in Crickmer Farms wreaths winning many first place awards at State sponsored forest festivals.
Crickmer Farms is a member of the West Virginia Christmas Tree Growers Association and actively participates in improving our Industry and environment. The farm has hosted several WVCTGA summer meetings presenting our farms products and cultural practices.
Crickmer Farms supports and has participated at the Charleston Capitol Market during the winter Holiday Season since its inception. The farm has also been open for choose and cut activity since 2008 which allows our customers to turn the Holiday Season celebration activity into a fun family outing.
